Stella is a brilliant organizer, writer, comrade, friend, dog mama who could really use some collective support. Our dear friend Stella’s mother had a series of massive strokes last week, leaving Stella’s mom partially paralyzed and without speech. The prognosis for the time being is unclear, but Stella is by her side at the hospital in Chicago attempting to make sense of the heartbreaking and daunting situation as it unfolds. We are raising funds to help alleviate some of the material pressure and stress on Stella while she necessarily takes time off from work to care for her mother. We imagine it’ll be at least a month or two before the situation stabilizes and Stella will be able to return to work. As someone who is already precariously employed and without savings, this kind of time off is really challenging to manage. Please let’s give whatever we can to help show our support and love in this incredibly hard and scary time for Stella’s family so she can be there with her beloved mom.
