Help Our Beloved Balthazar Eat Again

Our cat, Balthazar, is the joy of our lives. Every day he does something adorable and makes us laugh. However, he is getting a little older, and we noticed he wasn't eating like he should, so we called the vet.

She determined Balthazar had a gum infection and put him on strong antibiotics, but she said he needs X-rays and dental cleaning to be sure there is not a deeper problem.

X-rays and dental cleaning for cats require sedation. It is possible he may also need tooth extraction. There are blood tests prior to the procedure.

The X-rays and cleaning should cost $998 (that includes preliminary blood tests). If he needs extractions, it could add $200 or so to the total.

Balthazar's appointment is July 3, with preliminary testing on June 26. He is still not eating very well and needs this treatment.
