Help our beautiful Eliza and Family
Donation protected
Whilst 2020 was hard for a lot of families, for my long time friends and Cabarita locals Eliza and Caleb and their 4 year old son Ace, it was particularly tough.
At only 35 years old, Eliza was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, sadly and suddenly forcing the family to resign from their much loved jobs in WA (where they had been living temporarily due to border closures) to return home for treatment.
Since then Eliza has undergone a grueling 16 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by a complex surgery in February of this year. This surgery did remove several tumours, however unfortunately the pathology showed that the chemotherapy had been relatively unsuccessful and the tissue was still malignant, leaving beautiful Eliza at a greater risk of recurrence.
Eliza is still undergoing 25 rounds of radiotherapy, this will then be followed by a further 12 months of chemotherapy, which we truly hope will allow her to be around with us for many, many more years to come!
As you can imagine, all of this has resulted in the family facing significant financial pressure with the ongoing medical costs and Eliza being unable to work for the foreseeable future. Caleb is working huge hours and weekends as a carpenter to try and keep the family afloat, which also means less time with Eliza and little Ace.
I truly hope this fundraiser will not only ease some of the financial pressure but hopefully aide them in getting over to New Zealand to visit their loved ones, whom they have not seen since December 2019 prior to the diagnosis.
I would truly love to see you share this fundraiser around and donate any amount you can spare - Though very reluctant to accept help I know they would be immensely and forever grateful!
Thank you,
Rhea xxx
