Help Our Band Grow: Fund Instrument Purchases

I am a beginning band director that is lucky enough to work with some of the most amazing students. Our band program is growing quickly, and our instrument inventory cannot keep up.

The students I get to work with are passionate music makers that often have the deck stacked against them. These creative music makers come from hard-working families that want to help provide every opportunity possible for their kids, but often find the rental rates for instruments cost prohibitive. These students deserve a chance to develop fluency and proficiency on the instrument they are most curious about. They may not decide to keep playing their instrument later in life, but the skills students learn in our beginning band program set them up for success in any future career.

We learn how to problem solve, we develop grit, we collaborate with our fellow musicians, and we set and achieve high goals in our beginning band program. Let's get more instruments so that no student has to decide whether or not they "can" take band, and instead, let's help our students "get" to take band, without worrying about how they will afford an instrument, or convince their families that the sacrifice on their end is worth it for them.

We are able to secure competitive pricing on quality beginning brass instruments so that every dollar raised can go directly to a new cornet, trombone, or baritone that will end up in a students hands this year.

Our goal is to raise enough to purchase 2 cornets, $250 each, 1 trombone, $300, and 2 baritones, $600 each.

These instruments will be loaned to students for the school year, free of charge, and should last for at least 5 years, which means your donation will directly impact the lives of real students, for years to come.
