Help Save Kon – My Brave Boy Survived, But He’s Not Out of the Woods Yet

Hi everyone,

My name is Lori, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit to ask for your help.

My beloved pet Kon, a sweet and strong 6-year-old boy, went missing for over 8 days in the wilderness. Those 8 days were filled with sleepless nights, endless searching, and overwhelming fear—I truly thought I had lost him forever.

By some miracle, Kon was found alive—but he had clearly survived a brutal attack, likely by a coyote, and was in severe condition. He returned home terrified, tick infested, skeletal, dehydrated, and with a devastating open wound on his back that has left muscle and skin missing.

The vet has done what they can, but the injury is so severe they can’t stitch it yet. Instead, he needs to return every 2 days for wound cleaning, dressing, and care until he’s stable enough for surgery. He’s in pain, exhausted, and fighting to heal.

He’s not just a pet—Kon is my baby. After everything he’s endured to survive and come home, I am determined to do everything I can to give him the chance to recover fully. But the truth is, I cannot afford the cost of his ongoing care alone.

The estimated medical costs are in the thousands of dollars—far beyond my current means.
