Help our baby Luca
Donation protected
Today, 14th July, is a day I wish never came. After months of scans, tests and multiple appointments we were told that our baby Luca has to wear a medical TiMband helmet.
Upon our appointment today we were told that Luca’s right-hand side of his head is significantly larger than his left which results his forehead pushing forward and resulting his ears not centile. In addition to this his soft spot is larger than hoped and is struggling to close which also needs added support from the helmet.
Currently Luca goes to physio weekly for tortocolisis (twisted neck) stiffness of the neck muscles which also makes him prefer one side when looking around and tilt to one side. As a result of the restricted movement and pressure on the same part of the head, can lead to flat head syndrome.
Treatment needed is not currently funded from the NHS as not only is the TiMband helmet expensive but comes with it a heavy load of appointments and adjustments which obviously rises the costs further.
We obviously are desperate to raise the funds as no helmet means so many more complications to the head and neck movement which would ultimately lead to surgery (open skull) which brings so many risks and costs, which is a parent worst nightmare.
Along with my family and friends we are hoping to do a variety of things to help us as a family however any donations are massively appreciated!!
