Hi everyone,
We never imagined we would be writing something like this, but we are asking for help during one of the most frightening moments of our lives.
Our sweet little angel Loki has been suddenly and devastatingly diagnosed with lymphoma and immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (IMT) — a life-threatening condition where his immune system is destroying his platelets, putting him at risk for severe internal bleeding.
It has been a rough week of in and out the vet and ER. He is currently hospitalized in emergency ICU care, receiving blood transfusions and intensive treatment to stabilize him. His gums were actively bleeding, with possible internal bleeding and without immediate intervention, he would not survive. Just today’s hospitalization alone has been quoted between $7,000–$10,000, and that is only the beginning.
In addition to emergency care, his treatment includes:
• ICU hospitalization and constant monitoring
• Blood and platelet transfusions
• Medications to suppress his immune system
• Ongoing lab work and rechecks
• Oncology care for his lymphoma
Unfortunately, IMT is unpredictable and often requires repeated transfusions and extended hospitalization. Combined with a cancer diagnosis, the medical costs rise quickly and unexpectedly. We do have insurance but have already exhausted those funds.
Our goal reflects:
• His current emergency ICU stay
• Ongoing treatment to stabilize his platelet levels
• Necessary cancer care moving forward
Every dollar raised will go directly toward his medical care and giving him the best chance at recovery and quality of life. Any funds raised beyond immediate hospitalization will help cover continued treatment, medications, and follow-up care.
He is our brave, crazy, loving, gentle, baby boy, our papas and we are doing everything in our power to fight for him.
