My name is Gabrielle, and I am the mother of 2. One of our blessings, Vincent, a beautiful 7-month-old baby, has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Argininosuccinate Lyase Deficiency. This condition affects the urea cycle, putting my child at risk for life-threatening hyperammonemia crises. After many consultations with specialists, we have learned that a liver transplant is the best hope to prevent these dangerous episodes and protect our child from irreversible neurological injury. Liver transplantation is increasingly used in Urea Cycle Defects (UCDs) to prevent recurrent hyperammonemia and related complications.

To give him the best opportunity at life, his specialists at Stanford University Lucile Packard Children's hospital have kept him on a strict regimen that required his first 2 weeks of life in NICU, low protein diet formulas, medication, and lots of lab draws and specialty visits.

As we prepare for this major medical journey, our family is experiencing a great deal of uncertainty and strain. The costs of travel to the transplant center, medical bills, specialist co pays, and the need to take time off work to care for our child are more than we can manage alone. We want to give our baby every chance at a healthy future, but we need the support of our community. The funds raised will help cover these essential expenses and allow us to focus on supporting our child through treatment and recovery.
