Help Me Attend My Niece’s Naval Boot Camp Graduation

Hello, my name is Amber, and I’m reaching out with a sincere and personal request.

Nearly four years ago, I took my then‑13‑year‑old niece into my home and have been raising her ever since. Together we navigated school, hobbies, teenage milestones and everything in between. I’ve done my best to give her the support and love she needed to thrive.

In July, she took a huge step: at just 17 she joined the United States Navy. She’ll turn 18 on August 20, and on September 11 (PIR), she’ll graduate from boot camp in Chicago and officially embark on her career in the military.

I couldn’t be more proud of the young woman she has become. After years of caring for her and guiding her, being there when she graduates is incredibly important to both of us. Seeing her march across that floor will be a moment we’ve both dreamed about — a culmination of her hard work and determination, and a new chapter in her life.

As her guardian who has been living on a tight budget, I simply don’t have the financial resources to travel from Arizona to Chicago with my family. Between airfare, lodging, and the cost of taking time off work, this trip is beyond my means right now.
