Hi, my name is Matthew and I am creating this fundraiser for my Dad. My dad is my best friend. He’s the heart of our family, the funniest person in any room, and the one who can make anyone laugh even on the hardest days. He has always been there for everyone else — now it’s our turn to be there for him.

At the beginning of this year, my dad started experiencing what doctors first thought were hemorrhoids. Even with internal checks, nothing serious was diagnosed. But over the next few months, his health declined rapidly — he lost 20 kilos, became severely anemic, and could hardly walk.

It wasn’t until one day, when both of his legs suddenly swelled up, that the doctors realized something was terribly wrong. Within just a few days, he went through two blood transfusions, a CT scan, a colonoscopy, and a biopsy, which finally revealed the truth: stage 4 rectal cancer that had already spread to his liver and lungs.

Now all of our lives have changed. We know the time we have left with him is precious, and we want to make sure every moment counts. That means not only helping him tick off the bucket list he’s always dreamed of, making memories together, and surrounding him with love and comfort, but also securing the funds needed for better treatment and consultations with more specialists, so we can explore every possible option to help him get better and prolong his life with us. All of us, as well as other family members, live and work abroad, and we need financial support to be able to fly to see him, take time off work, and be by his side as much as possible.

This fundraiser will help us:

• Pay for medical treatment and care to keep him as comfortable as possible at home.

• Allow our mum and family to take time off work so we can spend more time with him.

• Cover travel costs for family to visit and be with him.

• Fund special bucket list experiences that will make Dad’s days brighter and filled with joy.
