Hello everyone,
My name is Heather, and this fundraiser is for my sweet 2-year-old daughter, who has been fighting big battles since the day she was born. We recently received the incredible news that she has been accepted into a therapy intensive program at NAPA Center, one of the top pediatric neuro-rehab centers in the world. This opportunity could genuinely change the course of her life. But we can’t get there without help.
Her Story & Diagnosis:
At birth, our daughter suffered a perinatal stroke. As a result, she has been diagnosed with right-side hemiplegia cerebral palsy, which affects the strength, mobility, and coordination of the entire right side of her body. Because of this, she struggles with:
- Significant weakness on her right side
- Delay in major motor milestones
- Difficulty using her right hand
- Inability to crawl or pull to stand
- Inability to stand or walk on her own
- Quick fatigue when trying to move or explore
- Needing constant work to help her body learn skills most toddlers pick up naturally
- Still learning to get around in her gait trainer, which helps her move but requires a lot of support and effort
Despite all of these challenges, she is the happiest, toughest, and most determined little girl. She has been in physical, occupational, and speech therapies since she was just 7 months old, and she works so hard every single day.
Why NAPA Center?
NAPA is known worldwide for its breakthrough therapies and their three-week intensive programs. Children often make months or even years of progress in just a few weeks because of the customized 3–4 hours per day, 5 days per week therapy approach.
For children with cerebral palsy, NAPA’s intensive methods (like TheraSuit, DMI, functional strengthening, and neuro-based therapy) can dramatically improve:
- Core strength
- Balance
- Functional movement
- Hand use
- Walking ability
- Overall independence
This program could help our daughter finally gain the skills she has been working so hard for: crawling, standing, using her right hand more effectively, and eventually walking more confidently outside of her gait trainer.
Why We Need Help
NAPA Intensives are expensive, and so is traveling for three weeks with a child who has special needs. We want to give her the very best chance at mobility and independence, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
Here’s what the 3-week intensive trip will cost our family:
Therapy Program: ~$9,000–$10,000
Required Deposit: $1,000
Hotel/Lodging for 3 weeks: ~$3,000–$5,000
Food & groceries: ~$2,000
Travel & transportation: ~$1,000–$2,000
Total estimated cost: $16,000–$20,000
How You Can Help
If you feel moved to donate, any amount, even a few dollars, we are beyond grateful. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much.
Every single contribution brings our daughter one step closer to an opportunity that could truly change her future.
Thank You
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and thank you for loving, supporting, and cheering on our little warrior. She amazes us every day, and we cannot wait to see what she accomplishes with this opportunity.
With love and gratitude,
The Grajeda Family
