Help Otto Rocket Enjoy His Final Months
Donation protected
Hi! This is Otto Rocket , my 9-year-old domestic brown tabby. My baby and my shadow, he is never too far from me. About a month ago, I discovered a small lump near my baby's back right leg. Immediately upon finding the lump, I called and made an appointment with my vet and did what they suggested at the time—quarantine the cat to make sure he was eating, drinking, and using the bathroom, which he was and is. Next was to apply a warm compress for a bit a few times a day, on the possibility it was an internal cyst. But to keep an eye out for any show of pain or anything. There were and are NO signs of pain, which was positive information.
During this time, I was going through my own health issues (due to these issues, I’ve developed short-term memory issues and all-around functionality).
Fast forward two weeks, and the lump has more than doubled in size, and a previously perfectly colored tummy was discolored. Medically, I called my vet and attempted to push the appointment up, which I was able to do by a week, and I called all of the local emergency vets to try and get in with them, which did not happen. After a long and anxious weekend, the appointment day arrived. Bloodwork, examination, and words with the doctor confirmed my worst fears.
My baby has an aggressive and fast-growing tumor. More than likely a form of sarcoma. And upon examination of the structures around the mass, it is likely to have already metastasized, leaving us very minimal options. We can get a very expensive surgery (surgery alone would cost just under $2000), and the tumor will more than likely grow back soon after. Or we can make his last few months as comfortable and painless as possible, which is what I intend to do.
The goal of this fundraiser is to provide the people he had an impact on (all of my friends can tell you this cat is the most cuddly, sweetest guy around) the chance to help him have a proper send-off! Every dollar that is raised here will go to Otto Rocket for treats, toys, trips out in the world to explore, ALL the good wet food he wants, and fresh fish or chicken to make him feel like the hunter he truly is. Any remaining funds will be donated to the local cat shelter to help other cats get adequate care.
Thank you for your time, and thanks in advance for any donations made to my baby.
