On March 23 after experiencing excessive drooling, very low energy, pain, and no appetite, our boy, Otto was diagnosed with pancreatitis. After a few weeks of treatment, he finally tested negative for it. During that entire time and still now, he’s struggling to eat. We have to hold his head up right when we hand feed him because of the amount of saliva he produces while trying to swallow the food. We have tried everything from mixing the soft food with water, to using a syringe to feed him, and nothing seems to help much. He’s currently on Hills sensitive stomach & skin soft food — as recommended by the vet.
On April 13, after testing negative to pancreatitis and after doing X-rays on his abdomen and neck/head area (all came back normal), his vet recommended doing a CT scan. The results of his CT scan came back normal, they couldn’t find anything that could explain why he has so much trouble eating. At first they were thinking it might be a neurological problem but again, nothing was found.
We’ve tried 4 different vets so far and none seem to know what’s going on with Otto. Right now, we need financial assistance in order to get him to a specialist that can further investigate his case.
As you can imagine, vet bills add up really fast. We are committed to continuing our search for a diagnosis and treatment for our boy and in order to do that we really need financial assistance.
We understand if you cannot contribute financially, and know that you can also help us by sharing our story and keeping Otto in your prayers.
If you’re interested in donating directly to the clinic, that is also an option. Please send us a message to [email redacted] for the details.
We truly appreciate your help in advance.
