Hello friends, family, and kind strangers,
We're reaching out today on behalf of our beloved dachshund, Otis - a quirky, loving, and endlessly loyal little guy who has brought five joyful years of laughter and snuggles into our lives. Otis is the heart of his home, always chasing sunbeams, wagging his tail at every new friend, and making sure the world can hear his voice. He has melted hearts wherever he goes.
But today, Otis is facing an uphill medical battle.
Today, Otis has been diagnosed with a herniated disc, a condition that is tragically common in dachshunds due to their long backs and short legs. His mobility has declined rapidly, and after urgent veterinary consultations with neurologists, it was confirmed that Otis needs an MRI and spinal surgery as soon as possible.
This news has been devastating to hear. Without surgery, Otis risks losing the ability to walk entirely, and worse, be in chronic, life altering pain. With surgery however, his prognosis is hopeful and bright. Surgical intervention in cases like Otis's is often the difference between paralysis and full recovery. The sooner it happens, the better the chances that he will return to his happy, silly, tail-wagging self.
We Need Your Help.
The total cost for Otis's MRI, surgery, hospitalization, and follow-up care is expected to be $10,000-$12,000. It's a heart stopping sum, but Otis is family. He deserves every chance to live the long, pain-free life ahead of him. At just five years young, this good boy still has so much life, love, and joy to give. With your support, we can give him the chance to run again, play again, and most importantly, live without pain.
If you are able to donate, every dollar counts, truly. And if you can't donate, sharing his story can go just as far. We are deeply grateful for any support, whether financial or emotional. Thank you for being a part of Otis's journey to recovery. He's a small dog with a big heart, and he needs you now more than ever.
With gratitude and puppy kisses,
Otis and His Loving and Grateful Family
