Help Otis get life changing surgery
Donation protected

Hi, my name is Kasha and I have a beautiful lab mix that needs your help! His name is Otis, and I adopted him in August of 2023, 4 days after my birthday, at an LA animal shelter. During his first vet visit, I was told that he had hip dysplasia. After, going for a second opinion at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospitals - Los Angeles, I found out just how severe his hip dysplasia was. The orthopedic surgeon told me that Otis has severe bilateral coxofemoral osteoarthritis, which is causing him to be in chronic and debilitating pain, and is in need of a hip replacement as soon as possible.

Otis is only 1.5 years old and has the most loving heart. He loves to play with his friends at the dog park and fetch with his mom (me). He loves all humans and dogs, often asking for belly rubs and giving kisses to any living being. He has the heart of a puppy, but the body of an older dog, which keeps him from playing, running, jumping, and hiking like his heart wants to.

Although Otis has pet insurance, they will not cover any of his current medical needs because they consider it a "pre-existing condition". Therefore, I am left with a $12,517.62 bill that I simply can not cover on my non-profit salary. This is a very unexpected and expensive expense that I can't afford but is absolutely needed. Otis' hip dysplasia is so severe that he is forced to walk on his tippy toes, and if he does not receive his left hip replacement soon, his leg will be permanently disabled.

Please consider contributing anything you can to Otis' left hip replacement surgery. Even if it's $10, anything helps to get him closer to living his best puppy life. If you want to follow more of Otis' life, you can find him on Instagram - @thedog.otis.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
A worried and devoted dog mom - Kasha
