Help Otis get the surgery he needs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rob and I’m fundraising for our dog Otis. He is a 3 year old Mastiff cross, and last week he tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee while running with his sister Mabel. Apparently this is quite a common injury, and smaller dogs can often recover fairly well with minimal intervention. However, Otis is 120 pounds and without surgery his leg will not recover. Furthermore, there is a significant risk of him damaging his other leg due to the increased strain.
We live on a 20-acre farm, and Otis loves nothing more than being active and exploring with Mabel. With successful TPLO surgery, he should regain full mobility in 10-12 weeks. The surgery involves cutting the tibia and repositioning the joint, securing it with plates and pins, thereby eliminating the need for the damaged ligament.
The funds raised will be used to pay for the surgery and follow-up care, as well as boarding costs for Mabel during his recovery. The costs break down as follows;
Surgery: $7000
Boarding for Mabel for 6 weeks: $2000
Meds, follow-up X-rays: $1000
Thanks so much for your consideration.
