Otis is my 9-year-old boxer and my constant companion. He’s always been a puppy at heart—goofy, loving, and full of energy. Otis has been by my side through every major moment in my life, from moving to a new country to supporting me during family emergencies. He’s my only family here in the US, and truly my last piece of home from Canada. Otis has always been there to make me smile, whether it’s by following me around the house, picking out new toys, or just being his playful self in the backyard.
Recently, Otis was diagnosed with cancer. He has a tumor in his lungs and needs surgery on August 5th, followed by chemotherapy. The illness has changed his life—he can’t go on walks like he used to, gets out of breath quickly, and sometimes chokes at night. I’ve had to move my salon business home to care for him, which has meant losing clients and income, but I want to make sure he’s safe and comfortable every day. Carrying him up the stairs at night and seeing him struggle is heartbreaking, but I’m determined to give him the best chance at recovery.
I’m raising funds to cover Otis’s surgery and ongoing treatments. Every contribution will help ensure he gets the care he needs and give us more time together. Thank you for supporting Otis and helping us through this difficult time.
