Oso is our 7-year-old Akbash rescue, and he has been our entire world since we adopted him from the shelter in October 2019. When we first brought him home, he was shy, hated the car, and struggled with extreme fear aggression. Over the years, Oso has grown so much. Now he loves sticking his head out of the car window, going on adventures, and spending time with his dog friends. His transformation has been incredible, and he has brought so much joy and love into our lives.
Recently, Oso was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. In March, he had his front leg amputated to help fight the disease, but since then he has been battling a severe infection at the surgical site. Once he recovers from the infection, Oso will begin chemotherapy treatments and enter the Yale Vaccine Trial, which could offer him a chance at more time with us. Each chemo session is costly, and the vaccine trial requires additional support.
We are raising funds to help cover Oso’s medical treatments, which could give us a few more precious months with him, reduce his pain, and improve his quality of life. Thank you for helping Oso. He is our whole world, and this has been so difficult for us. We just want to give him the best life we can, and make sure he is comfortable in his last few months. Your support means everything to us and will help Oso get the care he needs.
Any funds not used will be donated to canine cancer research.
