Help Oscar's medical fundraiser

One of the beautiful gifts of being a soccer coach-mentor is seeing the growth of each kid and how they become young adults. I want to share the story of one of them — Oscar.
Oscar is from El Salvador and joined my soccer program in 2017. I was the head coach of the middle school at that time, and like many of the kids we serve, he didn't speak a word of English. He was full of energy in practice, playfully distracting everybody in the opening and closing circle. Now, five years later, Oscar is in 9th grade and has become the most consistent player and one of the most outstanding leaders of his team. He's our goalkeeper, and he uses his voice to encourage his teammates. He has made me a better coach.
Two months ago, Oscar was diagnosed with Leukemia. His mom stopped working to take care of him. He stopped coming to practice to start this battle in the hospital.
Aligned with our team cheer of "Always Together", our commitment and friendship for Oscar haven't stopped. On and off the field, we're always together and we want to be part of this challenging journey with him and his family. I'm inviting my network to join us. All funds will be directed to the family to cover the costs of the treatment.
This fundraiser will end the day of his birthday, May 12; Please consider joining this cause!
