Oscar has been part of our family for 10 years, ever since we rescued him as a kitten. He’s full of spunk and personality (he honestly thinks he’s a dog), tagging along on walks through the woods and keeping us company outside.
Sunday night, someone shot Oscar with a BB gun, breaking his leg and leaving the BB still lodged inside.
We are sickened that anyone could do something so cruel. A police report has been filed, and the case is under investigation.
Oscar is currently home on pain medication, but he’s scheduled for surgery this Thursday to repair his leg and insert a plate. The costs have quickly added up:
- Emergency vet visit (X-rays, bloodwork, meds, etc.): $1,924.78
- Surgery deposit (due at drop-off): $4,500
- Remaining balance after surgery: $1,000–$1,500
In total, we’re facing $7,000–$8,000 in veterinary expenses.
We’re doing everything we can to help him heal and get back to his mischievous, food-loving self. Any help, whether through a donation or simply sharing his story, is appreciated!
