My name is Berenice Chico and I am Oscar's sister. It is incredibly hard to ask for help, but Oscar is facing a medical crisis that has turned our lives upside down. As bills pile up and we focus on Oscar’s recovery, we are hoping to raise funds to cover his medical care and therapy.

On March 20th, 2026, Oscar Chico, my brother, a father of three, was a victim of crime and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. After spending time in a medically induced coma, Oscar is now awake, but unresponsive. Doctors are saying this might be his new way of life but we want to transfer him to a facility where he can begin the long process of recovery and receive specialized treatment and therapy. So he could gain cognitive function as he is in a vegetative state.

Oscar’s journey is far from over. The funds raised will help us send him to a rehabilitation facility where he can get the best possible care for physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as psychiatric care and social support. We want to give him every chance to heal and return to his family, especially his three children who need him so much. This support will help cover the costs of therapy, treatment, and the specialized care Oscar needs to regain his abilities and independence.
