Help Orphaned Lambs Like Hannah Survive and Thrive

Support Leema Rescue’s Lifesaving Lamb Program

Since 2008, Leema Rescue has saved and rehomed over 400 animals. While we’ve long focused on dogs, 2025 marked a new chapter—our first stock animal rescue. Now, with over 17 livestock animals in care this year alone and five lambs currently depending on us, we’re urgently seeking your help to continue this vital work.

Lambs are vulnerable, expensive, and often arrive in critical condition. They need warmth, formula, vet care, and love to survive.

✬ Meet Hannah ✬

Hannah was found alone in a paddock by a kind-hearted passerby. Weak and barely able to stand, she arrived in our care with only a faint suckle reflex—and within 8 hours, she stopped drinking altogether. On Easter Sunday, Hannah was rushed to the vet and started on intramuscular antibiotics.

By Easter Monday, she stood—unassisted—for the first time. There were cheers and tears!

Thanks to specialised care, Hannah pulled through and was recently adopted into a loving home. But there are many more Hannahs still to come.

✬ What We’re Facing ✬

We are just partway through lambing season and already in high demand! Some lamb costs hundreds to support, and we expect many more orphaned babies to arrive in the coming weeks and months.

So far, in just 10 weeks, we have spent $3130 on lamb expenses.

To care for them, we're building a dedicated Lamb ICU shed—complete with water, power, concrete, and internal fit-out. The remaining work on this project will cost over $15,000.
