We are urgently reaching out in hopes of sharing the story of a child whose life depends on immediate access to medical care.
Orin, a 18 year-old young man from Brooklyn, NY is fighting glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive and deadly forms of brain cancer. In the fight for his life and due to this diagnosis, he has already undergone two brain surgeries and suffers multiple epileptic seizures. Despite everything he has endured, there is still hope.. but time is critical.
His mother, Kerri-Ann is a single mother of three and a full-time Department of Sanitation worker. She has done everything humanly possible to save her son. We have exhausted every available option, including borrowing from 401(k) savings, using life insurance, and draining all personal resources. There is nothing left to fall back on.
Doctors have identified a treatment that offers a chance at extending and improving Orin’s life, but insurance will not cover it. Without immediate funding, this treatment may not be accessible. The cost is $200,000, a number no working family can overcome alone, especially while caring for two other young children and remaining at his bedside.
We have started a GoFundMe not as a last resort, but as the only remaining option. We are asking the community, and the city for help. Every day matters. Every share matters. Every donation, no matter the size, brings Orin closer to the care he urgently needs.
We respectfully ask that you consider donating and sharing this story to help bring awareness to a family running out options.
Update:
Thank you all so much for the love, prayers, shares, and donations. Because of your generosity, we are one step closer to helping Orin access the treatment he needs. Every contribution, no matter the size, truly makes a difference and means more to our family than words can express.
Please continue to share this fundraiser and donate if you are able. Your support is helping keep hope alive as we continue this fight together
