Help Will Transition to a New Career
Donation protected
I’m going back to school! I’m proud of myself for expanding into vastly uncharted waters from my typical path: this summer I’m attending a full-time Lineman College for 3 1/2 months to go work on power lines. With my career history starting as a professional dancer, then continuing as a massage therapist for the last 10 years, this is a dramatic change of tone.
For those of you that know me well, you know that my main way of giving back to the community has been supporting indigenous elders that I work closely with for the last 12 years. I also do whatever I can to give back to my broader community. I am starting on this new career path for four major reasons: it pays extremely well; there’s high demand for line workers nationally; I have a strong general skill set for this trade; and I feel ready for a big adventurous change in my life.
I am incredibly grateful for any amounts of financial support to help me get through the next few months of school, and extra expenses to get into the trade, like certifications, tests, etc. My vision, and all the practical information I’ve gathered, points to this path providing me with a major boost of resources and prosperity to continue to build long-term life-affirming communities.
