The sweet stray Oreo I have been fostering over the past few months has been a loving, gentle soul who gave birth to a litter of beautiful kittens. She’s been an incredible mother—nurturing, protective, and full of love. Today I found out some heartbreaking news that she has kidney failure and needs to be put down.

I am raising funds for an at-home euthanasia, so that she can leave this world surrounded by love and comfort, in the familiar place she’s known as home at The Silverlake. I want her final moments to be calm, without the stress of a clinic visit as she has already lived that life outside as a stray.

I am also doing this for her kittens. Letting them see her in her final moments and understand that she has passed may help them adjust emotionally while I continue to care for them. I want to give them the best chance to heal and grow up healthy, emotionally and physically.

Funds raised will go toward:

• At-home euthanasia service

• Cremation

• Supportive supplies to help us care for and comfort the kittens as they transition without their mom as she was still nursing.

I know times are hard for many, and I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t so important. Any amount helps, even a share of this fundraiser.
