Hi, my name is Jewellea and I’m fundraising for my sweet rescue dog, Oreo Ice Cream—formerly just “Ice Cream” at the shelter.

I adopted Oreo almost 3 months ago—literally the day before he was scheduled for euthanasia due to kennel stress. He had no behavioral issues outside of “failure to thrive in a shelter setting” (who honestly would?!), and I just couldn’t get his face out of my head. Taking him home wasn’t premeditated, but it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

Since then, Oreo has become my best friend. He’s an incredibly sweet and active pup who loves going on hikes and getting pup cups from Dutch Bros. He brings joy to everyone he meets.

Unfortunately, last Friday, while playing with a toy, Oreo jumped from the bed, but his leg slipped and got caught, tearing his CCL (cranial cruciate ligament). The injury is very painful and requires TPLO surgery—a costly procedure that’s the best option for him to regain full mobility and return to the active, happy life he deserves.

The surgery is estimated to cost over $5,000, not including post-op recovery care. I’ve already spent a lot to give Oreo the life he was almost robbed of—from vet visits to care when I travel for work. This unexpected injury has been emotionally and financially overwhelming.
