Help Oreo Heal: Support His Recovery

Story

Hi everyone, This is Oreo, our incredible Amstaff, who recently suffered a slab fracture of his ulnar carpal bone — a serious and painful wrist injury. But even now, Oreo doesn’t seem to notice how badly he’s hurt. He’s still full of love, tail wags, and hope. We had him splinted and under veterinary care within 18 hours of the injury. He’s on anti-inflammatories, pain medication, and crate rest with a vet-prescribed sedative to keep him calm and safe as he heals. At home, we’ve committed to doing everything we can for his recovery, including: - Turmeric and ginger in his food - Bone broth with turmeric - Collagen chews for joint support - Plain Greek yogurt for gut health and healing We’re pursuing conservative care, because surgery isn’t financially possible. We exhausted our family savings paying for Oreo’s emergency vet visit, medications, and splinting. Those savings were originally meant for a dental surgery I need — to remove my top teeth and have dentures made. I’m missing most of my upper teeth and haven’t been able to chew properly in months. But in that moment, Oreo’s pain came first, and I would make that decision again — he’s family, and he depends on us. Now, we’re trying to raise enough to cover: - Follow-up X-rays (at a third vet, because our regular vet’s imaging costs are hundreds of dollars) - Splint checks and adjustments - Ongoing medications and supportive care On top of it all, we are heartbroken by the possibility that this injury could prevent Oreo from continuing his journey as a service pup in training for our daughter. But no matter what happens, Oreo is our family — if he can’t be a service dog, he still has a permanent place in our hearts and in our home. He is everything to her — gentle, intuitive, and loyal. We want to give him every possible chance to heal and live the life he’s meant to live. If you’re able to donate — or even share our story — it would mean everything. Oreo is fighting through this with so much grace and strength, and we want to match that by giving him every chance at healing. Thank you so much for reading, for caring, and for helping us through something really hard. With all our love, [Your Name / Family Name] Every part of this journey has been hard — not just for Oreo, but for all of us. He can’t go on walks or play with his best friend like he used to. But his friend still comes to visit every day, reminding him that he’s still part of the pack. We have to carry him up and down the stairs to keep him safe, and I’ve needed help with that because of my own health. It’s hard to ask for help — but it would be worse if he and I fell. We’re doing everything we can to make sure he has the quiet, supported healing he needs.

Hi everyone,
This is Oreo, our incredible Amstaff, who recently suffered a slab fracture of his ulnar carpal bone —
a
serious and painful wrist injury. But even now, Oreo doesn’t seem to notice how badly he’s hurt. He’s
still full of love, tail wags, and hope.
We had him splinted and under veterinary care within 18 hours of the injury. He’s on
anti-inflammatories, pain medication, and crate rest with a vet-prescribed sedative to keep him calm
and safe as he heals.
At home, we’ve committed to doing everything we can for his recovery, including:
- Turmeric and ginger in his food
- Bone broth with turmeric
- Collagen chews for joint support
- Plain Greek yogurt for gut health and healing
We’re pursuing conservative care, because surgery isn’t financially possible. We exhausted our family
savings paying for Oreo’s emergency vet visit, medications, and splinting.
Those savings were originally meant for a dental surgery I need — to remove my top teeth and have
dentures made. I’m missing most of my upper teeth and haven’t been able to chew properly in months.
But in that moment, Oreo’s pain came first, and I would make that decision again — he’s family, and he
depends on us.
Now, we’re trying to raise enough to cover:
- Follow-up X-rays (at a third vet, because our regular vet’s imaging costs are hundreds of dollars)
- Splint checks and adjustments
- Ongoing medications and supportive care
On top of it all, we are heartbroken by the possibility that this injury could prevent Oreo from continuing
his journey as a service pup in training for our daughter. But no matter what happens, Oreo is our
family — if he can’t be a service dog, he still has a permanent place in our hearts and in our home. He
is everything to her — gentle, intuitive, and loyal. We want to give him every possible chance to heal
and live the life he’s meant to live.
If you’re able to donate — or even share our story — it would mean everything. Oreo is fighting through
this with so much grace and strength, and we want to match that by giving him every chance at

Thank you so much for reading, for caring, and for helping us through something really hard.
