Orchid has been my loving companion for the past five years, and she’s always been a source of comfort and joy in my life. Recently, a frightening incident led me to rush her to the vet after I found bloody, watery vomit around the house. Orchid had eaten some plastic streamer decorations, and while the X-rays showed her system was clear of any damage from the streamers, the vet noticed something unusual with her kidneys. After further bloodwork, Orchid was diagnosed with incurable stage 2 kidney disease. It was a shock, but in a way, the accident turned out to be a blessing—without it, her condition might have gone unnoticed until it was life-threatening.

Now, Orchid needs regular vet visits and prescription food to help manage her disease and prevent it from getting worse. While she hasn’t shown changes in her routine yet, it’s been challenging to find treats and snacks she can safely enjoy, and I’ve had to limit her to just her two meals a day. I do my best to enrich her life by taking her out on walks in her cat bubble when the weather allows, making sure she enjoys every moment. The costs of her ongoing care and special diet are adding up quickly, and I want to give her the best quality of life for as long as possible.
