Help or Thank B.B. Rover's Staff- Xmas Layoffs
Donation protected
Hello everyone; James here. I wish I had better news to report to you but thus far, there has been no movement between our owners & landlord & things don’t appear to be headed in a positive direction anytime soon as far as BB’s is concerned. I have advised our staff to seek & take other jobs as they are offered & not to wait for the impasse to clear; and while we all hope there is some miracle in the cards, we must accept that the reality is that BB Rover’s likely will not reopen anytime soon, if ever.
Of course, this came at a crushing time for our staff, just a few days before Christmas. Those of you who frequented the pub know that we have been blessed with kind, long-time employees who embraced the family atmosphere & gave years(sometimes decades!) of their lives working there. Some of you have reached out to me to ask if I could set up a portal through which you could help or thank these employees with contributions to ease their next transition in case the worst came to pass. Unfortunately, at this point it looks like we are as close to the end as we will ever be.
If you care to contribute, know that I will personally supervise collection & distribution of the proceeds to our remaining staff; I maintain contact with them & I know they would appreciate your assistance & gratitude. All proceeds collected will be distributed equally among the five of us whose employment found an unexpected turn- Joe, Steph, Sam, Armanda & myself. Additionally, if a donor would like to directly compensate a particular person, just let me know by texting if you have my #, sending us a Facebook message or emailing us at our email address(Plz get from our Google/FB page- GoFundMe will not let me post) & I’ll make sure the intended party gets it.
Lastly, thank all of you for patronizing B.B. Rover’s through the years & contributing to make it what it was: the most kick-ass, friendly neighborhood pub that welcomed all; home to inspired drinkers & serious thinkers, an independent throwback oasis, where friends were family & strangers were just friends that you hadn’t met yet. The only kind of trouble we allowed was good trouble, and we have MANY memories & stories to prove it. Thanks for helping to create those memories & God bless.
