Hi! I’m Kelli. I’m raising money for a friend who also happens to be the lab technician in our office.

Opportune is the most god loving, positive thinking and beautiful soul I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Even after all she has been through in the past year.

Last April, Opportune lost the love of her life , Michael to cancer. Shortly after his passing, her sister suddenly became ill and passed, followed by her brother. Then, just as she thought it couldn’t get any worse, her step-daughter (Michael’s only daughter) died tragically.

Michael loved Opportune’s two daughters so very much, he treated them like his own, so this has been tough on so many.

Opportune has nobody here. She is from the Ivory Coast and English is her third language. I have been trying to help her with her probate in both North Carolina and South Carolina because Michael did not have a will and she cannot afford an attorney. This has been going on since he passed, so over a year now that she has not had access to some of the accounts.

She recently received two IRS audit notifications From when Michael became ill and he either did not prepare his taxes for them those two years, or did it incorrectly. I am doing everything I can to help her get everything on track. Her husband did everything for the family and she has no one in the United States to help her.

Last week her car broke down, and we have all been pitching in to bring her to and from the office because the dealership is not offering free rentals at this time.

The cost to fix her now paid off car is going to be at least $3800. This is way more than she has right now being a single mom now of two teenage girls on a phlebotomist salary. She’s simply trying to Just figure how to go on after losing her great love.

There is nobody that I know who is more Willing to help anyone even though she’s gone through so much. I just want her to know that people care and There will be light at the end of this seemingly never ending tunnel.

I don’t anticipate raising the full cost of the repairs, but I would love for her just to see that together, she is loved. People like her are the reason this world is a better place. I just hope you will help me in my mission to bring her some small comfort that she doesn’t have yet another loss piled on top of her.
