Hi everyone,

Our sweet pup Opie (6) was recently involved in a devastating accident by a well known delivery company that left him with a severe injury to his front left paw. What started as a normal evening walk quickly turned into a medical emergency, and Opie was hospitalized with a broken bone and multiple lacerations, while veterinarians do everything they can to save his leg.

Right now, the veterinary team is closely monitoring the tissue in his paw. We are hoping for the best, but there is a strong possibility that amputation may be necessary depending on how the injury progresses. Watching him go through this has been heartbreaking, but he is incredibly strong and we are committed to doing everything we can to help him recover.

Opie means the world to us. He is more than just a dog — he is part of our family. Anyone who knows him knows how loving, gentle, and joyful he is. Seeing him in pain has been one of the hardest things we’ve experienced.

Because of the severity of the injury, his emergency vet care, hospitalization, and potential for surgery could cost up to $30,000. As I graduate nursing school in 3 months this is extremely daunting for me. We are currently pursuing reimbursement through the delivery company after the accident, but these situations take time to resolve and veterinary hospitals require payment upfront for treatment.

We created this fundraiser to help cover Opies immediate medical expenses so that he can receive the care he needs without delay.
