Crisfield’s downtown is ready for a revival, and I believe a true community pub can help lead the way. I’m Christopher, and I’m working to open MacRae’s Black Terrier Pub—a traditional Scottish pub inspired by the Irish pub model, right on main street near the city pier. Our town has been missing a gathering place like this since Covid, and there’s real excitement across the county for a spot where friends and neighbors can come together. As someone of Scottish descent (Clan MacRae), I want to bring a bit of my heritage to Crisfield, with top shelf Scotches, a great selection of whiskeys, and a menu of small gourmet Scottish dishes made just for us. The pub will offer live entertainment every Saturday, karaoke on Fridays, and team trivia on Thursdays, plus all the live sports you could want—enough fun and friendly competition to keep people coming back.

This fundraiser is to help acquire one of the abandoned buildings on main street, turning it into a warm, welcoming space for everyone. The funds will go directly toward purchasing the building from its tax sale, so that an actual address can be had, in order to be able to get the liquor license. The LLC is already in operation. Once the deed is granted, we can get the SBA loans for renovation and build-out, creating an authentic pub atmosphere. You can help in supporting the launch of a business that will give back to the community. I want MacRae’s Black Terrier Pub to be more than just a bar—it should be a place where people gather all year round, support local restaurants, and feel a sense of pride and ownership. I’ll be offering special perks to city residents and donors, and I’m committed to donating a percentage of profits to local charities and events. In fact, 10% of every dollar raised over the fundraising amount will go right back to the community.
