Help Opal Walk Again: Support Her Amputation

My name's Kailea. I've had my sweet girl, Opal, for about two years. She's always been very sweet and such a people animal.

I ended up having to take a road trip to Texas. During that time, I left her with a sitter to watch her, spend time with her, and feed her. When I got her back, she had torn her bed, and somehow the string got wrapped so tightly around her little foot that all circulation had been cut off to the point we couldn't save her foot.

She's going to have to get it amputated in a week.

I'm a barista at a small business. Unfortunately, I don't have $1,000. Yesterday's (3/9/25) appointment cost $280, and that was absolutely all I had.

This is no one’s fault, the vet even said this is pretty common in hedgehogs, but still leaving us in a pickle.
