Opal is my two-year-old miniature bull terrier and the dog I’ve dreamed of having since I was a little girl. She’s always been a fighter, entering the world as the smallest of her litter and growing into the best companion I could ask for. Her playful spirit and loving nature have brought so much joy to my life, and I look forward to many more years together with her.

Recently, Opal was diagnosed with acute kidney failure and is now hospitalized at an emergency veterinary facility in El Paso, Texas. Her symptoms came on suddenly and have progressed quickly, leaving her prognosis uncertain. The cause of her condition is still unknown, and she’s undergoing extensive testing, including blood work and imaging, to find answers. Opal is receiving 24-hour care, fluids, and medications to stabilize her, but the costs are mounting rapidly.

This has been an incredibly stressful and emotional time for me, especially with Opal being treated far from home. Traveling back and forth is difficult, but I want to make sure she gets the best care possible.
