For the first several weeks, we were convinced Onyx was a little boy.

As it turns out, Onyx had other plans.

Like many kittens, she kept us guessing until she was old enough for us to know for sure. While her name stayed the same, one thing never changed—she’s been full of confidence, curiosity, and personality from the very beginning.

When Onyx came into our care, she needed the same chance every rescued kitten deserves: safety, good nutrition, veterinary care, and the opportunity to grow up knowing what it feels like to be loved.

Today, Onyx is a healthy, playful young kitten with a sleek black coat and a fearless spirit. She’s quick to investigate anything new, eager to play, and always seems to carry herself with a little extra confidence. Whether she’s chasing toys, exploring every corner of the room, or curling up after a busy day, Onyx has a way of making everyone smile.

Preparing a rescued kitten for adoption costs far more than most people realize. By the time Onyx is ready for her forever home, her care will include:

We’re asking the community to help raise $300 toward Onyx’s care. While the total value of her care is higher, we’ll continue covering the remaining costs so she receives everything she needs to become healthy, fully vetted, and ready for adoption.

Every kitten has an individual fundraising page so supporters can follow their journey and see exactly who they’re helping. Community sponsorship helps cover the cost of rescue, medical care, and preparation before a kitten joins their forever family.

Our goal is simple: every kitten should leave for their new home healthy, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered when appropriate, and with a great start in life. When a kitten’s Launch Fund is fully supported, it gives us the flexibility to reduce or eliminate adoption costs and, whenever possible, send them home with a starter kit that may include food, litter, toys, and other essentials.
