Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out because we’re going through a really difficult time right now. My sweet dog, Onyx, was seriously injured during a sudden incident while he was outside in our yard. It happened very quickly and unfortunately we did not witness how it occurred — we only know he was left with a large open wound from his leg up to his stomach. Since the incident, he has been very fearful, which is completely unlike his usual personality.

We initially believed stitches, surgery, and a drainage tube would be enough for his recovery, but now, 14 days later, he still cannot walk. He has been hospitalized for one day so far, and the Ottawa Vet Clinic will most likely keep him for at least two days. He is currently on strong pain medication to help manage his discomfort.

The veterinary team is still investigating what is going on, and he will be undergoing X-rays. At this time, we are still unsure of the exact cause of his condition and are waiting for answers.

I have been doing everything possible to help him heal, but the financial burden has become overwhelming. So far, I have already faced over $7,000 in veterinary bills, and the costs continue to rise. I am reaching out to our community for support — any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us.
