Hi everyone,
My name is Daeun Cho (Onjay), and I’m a dancer and performer based in New York City. I moved here from Seoul in 2019 to pursue my dream of becoming a Broadway dancer and to inspire others through Waacking and commercial dance. Since then, I’ve been blessed to perform at venues like Lincoln Center and the Guggenheim, train with world-renowned mentors, and teach classes to help the next generation of dancers express themselves.
Recently, I faced unexpected challenges with my O-1B visa process, which led me to pursue a green card to continue living and working in the U.S. Securing a green card is crucial for me to keep creating, performing, and supporting the dance community I love. As an immigrant artist, there are significant limitations on how I can earn income during this process, which has made covering the costs even more challenging.
The total cost for the green card process is about $4,000. I’ve managed to cover half with my savings and work, but I still need $2,500 more to reach my goal.
Your support will directly help me secure my green card and continue sharing my passion on stage and with my students. Whether you can donate or share this campaign, every bit truly means the world to me. I believe in the power of dance to connect people, tell stories, and create positive change—and with your help, I can keep moving forward.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting my journey. I’ll keep you updated with my progress and send love through every performance I give.
With gratitude,
Daeun (Onjay)
