Help One-Eyed Willy Walk Again
Donation protected
On Sunday, 5/18 my cat, One-Eyed Willy, woke up and could no longer walk. There were no signs of trauma and it happened with no warning.
For those of you that know me, you know that I love my cats like they are my children. I brought Willy to the vet to be checked immediately and have unfortunately been left with more questions than answers.
Willy’s vet performed numerous tests to rule out injury and could not find the source of his issue. It is beginning to look more and more like Willy may have a neuromuscular disorder. We are currently awaiting the results to rule out an autoimmune disorder; however if that comes back negative then we will then have to take a nerve and muscle sample to test for a different neurological issue.
As you can probably guess, the tests alone have been extremely costly and we still don’t have answers or a treatment plan. Unfortunately, Willy is not covered under pet insurance due to his pre-existing condition (glaucoma).
Willy is such a sweet boy and has been dealt very difficult cards in his short life. We adopted him last year from the MSPCA, where he had already lost his left eye from glaucoma.
Poor Willy just had his first birthday in March and has a long life to live. We want to do everything in our power to get to the bottom of this issue and provide him the comfort he deserves.
Please consider donating to help cover the costs of Willy’s growing veterinary bills. I thank you all in advance for your help!
Love,
