One is part of a cat family that includes his two siblings and their momma. He’s about four years old, and he and his siblings are so identical that we named them One, Two, and Three—maybe not the most original, but it fits them perfectly! One is especially close to my daughter Logan, who adores him.

About a week ago, we noticed that One wasn’t putting any pressure on his left front leg. When we checked, it was clear his leg was broken. My mother does everything she can to rescue animals on the south side, but with everything getting so expensive, the medical bills for One’s treatment are overwhelming. He needs X-rays, exams, surgery, medicine, painkillers, and a lot of care while he recovers. Covering all of this is a huge burden for my mom right now.
