Omarian is an energetic, kind, and incredibly smart 11-year-old boy who loves soccer, laughter, and being a kid. To those who know him, his bright spirit is impossible to miss. What many don’t see is the lifelong medical battle he is bravely facing.
Omarian has been diagnosed with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that affects the skin. CTCL is considered chronic and incurable, meaning it does not go away and requires ongoing management for life. For Omarian, treatment isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about protecting his future. Without consistent care, CTCL can spread beyond the skin to the bloodstream and internal organs, When CTCL progresses beyond the skin, it becomes significantly more difficult to treat and is associated with a markedly reduced life expectancy, in some cases less than 10 years.
One of the safest and most effective treatments for children with CTCL is Narrowband UVB phototherapy. This medically prescribed light therapy helps keep the disease under control. Unfortunately, there are no Narrowband UVB machines available in the Kootenays. Every treatment requires long-distance travel, missed school, missed work for caregivers, and hours on the road—adding unnecessary stress and exhaustion to an already difficult journey.
Because Omarian will need this treatment repeatedly throughout his life, a home Narrowband UVB phototherapy machine would be truly life-changing. It would provide consistent care, reduce physical and emotional strain, and protect his long-term health—while giving him more time at home, on the soccer field, and with friends.
We are raising funds to help purchase a home phototherapy machine so Omarian can receive the care he needs without the burden of constant travel. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another powerful way to help.
Thank you for supporting Omarian and helping ensure that distance never stands between a child and the care he needs.
