Hello everyone my name is Omari'air Hawkins!
The beginning of May I got really sick. I had a fever for a week I couldn't eat and all I wanted was my mom. After seeing my pediatrician they thought I had an unknown virus or FUO(a fever of unknown origin). Days later it didn't go away so we then went to UPMC Children's Hospital where they said the same exact thing. We were sent home and told to keep doing everything that we were doing so my mom and dad we're doing everything they could for me; warm baths, cool rags, and keeping me hydrated by syringe with water and chicken broth. They kept rotating from Tylenol to Motrin, but every time the medicine would wear off my fever would spike back up. Mom was told she was doing good and everything she can to just ride it out and the fever should go away in the next couple of days. Within the next couple of days my fever was gone, I felt a little better, was able to eat, and was happier. So the next day me and my mom we're going to take my Papal somewhere then go to the carnival in Steubenville Ohio. My mom felt like I deserve some fun! As I was getting ready for the day my mom was cleaning off my toothbrush and when she turned around my nose and mouth were bleeding. She couldn't get it to stop so she rushed me to my nannies house whom also couldn't get it to stop bleeding. My mom rushed me to WVU hospital in Cadiz Ohio. My nose bled for over five hours. The nurses and doctors couldn't get it to stop either. Finally they talked my mom and dad into letting me get bloodwork where they found traces of Leukemia Cancer. We were transferred to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh where we sat in the emergency room for what felt like forever. We were then admitted to floor 9B. The doctors there knew why WVU thought I had leukemia, but they had no answers for my parents. After a lot of testing and bloodwork the doctors were able to tell my parents I did have leukemia and what category I was in, but they weren't sure of what kind exactly. On Mother's Day the doctors came in and diagnosed me with Pre B-Cell A.L.L(Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) Cancer. I have gotten Chemotherapy, platelets, blood transfusions, spinal taps, and bone marrow tests multiple times. My mom, dad, team of nurses, and team of doctors are taking all the precautions and doing everything they can to treat me. I am a Warrior! I Will fight! I WILL SURVIVE Pre B-Cell A.L.L Cancer!
