My name is Lukas Crowder, and I am raising funds to help my best friend, Omar, a proud and lifelong member of Johnson County, TN.

Omar was brought to the United States when he was 3 months old. He is a lifelong resident of Mountain City, Tennessee and a 2021 graduate of Johnson County High School. Omar graduated with honors, played tennis, was an FFA member, as well as participated in many other extracurricular activities.

Omar was recently detained by ICE. He is currently in Knox County Jail awaiting transport to an Ice Detention center in Baton Rouge Louisiana. He will be having several hearings over the next few weeks. The entire process from arrest to detainment is moving very quickly.

Omar and his family are facing an incredibly difficult time and a seemingly uphill battle. His mother and his 12 year old sister are distraught. He has consistently demonstrated strong character through his dedication to his family, his friendships and his community. Despite his young age he has taken on significant responsibilities, particularly in supporting his younger sister. He assists with her education, attends her extracurricular activities and provides both emotional and practical support to her and his Mother. His absence would be a profound hardship for them. Your support will help cover legal expenses, family needs, and the costs of bringing Omar home so that he can continue building his bright future here in the community he loves.

Omar is not only a devoted son and brother, but also a kind friend and neighbor who brings positivity to everyone around him. His family, as well as his community, are deeply concerned for his wellbeing and ultimately his future. This fundraiser will help ensure they have the resources they need for legal expenses, travel/lodging, and other family expenses they may need in his absence.
