Hi there, my name is Omar and I have suffered life changing injuries in October 2013 when I went over a slippery manhole cover at 42mph, which will never allow me to work again.
My ability to be independent and make a living for myself wasn't just stripped away from me from a freak accident, but from also the injustice and humiliation I have experienced from Ealing Council over the past 7 years who instead of helping me get my life back together again, instead had me begging for help without any luck. Not only has Ealing Council neglected me, but they are wanting me to live alone in a 1 bedroom flat instead of a 2 bedroom flat to enable care and aid, which I tend to need at all hours of the day. This is not only a nuisance but a danger to my life, as surgeons, GPs and psychiatric professionals have pointed out in letters written but ignored by Ealing Council. The only help so far is the railing installed into the house and out into the garden.
I was once a personal trainer who ran from Middlesex to Hyde Park for a warm up to deliver British Military Fitness classes in the park to tens of people, and I enjoyed my time in the Army in 2011-12. I was never seen at home as I was always travelling from one place to another and had an extremely active life. The change in life today has taken a lot more than expected to get used to even 8 years on.
I have not had help from Ealing Council and have a team trying to hold them accountable now but I have decided to break the silence and tell my story to try and help myself get back on my own two feet, no pun intended!
I might be able to travel abroad and meet with consultants who can help me turn my life around with state of the art new technologies to help me regain more mobility and in turn a better quality of life. I am currently contemplating foot amputation to decrease the pain I experience every day due to the paralysis I have in both of my lower limbs.

My local council, Ealing Council have failed me on many levels over the past 7 years, but I will not sit back and feel sorry for myself. Despite my inabilities and they are many, I believe with funds I can try and turn my life around.
Due to the negligence from Ealing Council, I have sustained many trips and falls almost daily due to the inappropriate environment I live in. Let me save myself the embarrassment by not going into detail what happens on a daily basis as it consists of my losing my dignity due to the lack of bathroom on the lower floor where I live.
I'm sure you're now asking, what can be so bad about my condition to endure pain, embarrassment and undignified situations on a daily basis. Allow me to fill you in...
On 10th October 2013, my motorbike skidded over a manhole at 42mph causing my body to fly off the bike and smash into a lamp post and then a telephone box with damage done to them as if a car had the collision, not me.
My injuries were:
Fractured and dislocated vertebraes in the neck - C1, C2, C3 and C4 (reconstructed with metal plates)
Fractured and dislocated skull from the spine (reconstructed with metal plates)
4 Brain Haemorrhages affecting my mood and personality
All nerves severed right side of the neck (to the right arm)
Shattered right and left hip (reconstructed with metal plates)
Shattered right and left knee (reconstructed with metal plates)
Skin protrusion of the right and left thigh bone (reconstructed with metal plates)
Skin protrusion of the right chin bon (reconstructed with metal plates)
A ruptured/severed aorta to the heart (a stent put in place) - a miracle I am here today!
100% deaf in the left ear
and other injuries I do not wish to disclose here but I think I've shared enough!
I have not recovered from any of these injuries and have reached the point of limited recovery unless if I try new therapies and techniques.
My quality of life has not been ideal, my family have tried their best and have given their best to help aid me but I need a little bit more to give meaning to my life. I would also like to give back to those who have helped me. Feeling forever in debt depresses me and makes me disengage with everyone. Being a typical Alpha male doesn't help when needing help, be it physically or financially, I even got my sister to write this page as I cannot bare the thought of giving out a needing hand!
I have needed help from Ealing Council over the past 7 years but if they will not help me, then I will try to help myself even if it means I need to share my story here with you.
£100,000 will cover:

I was in the Army, was a successful personal trainer and worked with British Military Fitness managing Hyde Park and Buckinghamshire branches with a great future ahead of me. An accident to change my life within seconds, have me endure hospitalisation of 16 months and 30 operations to fix injuries including 27 bones fractures was not on my plan, but no matter how little aid I am getting from my local council, I will now take charge and try make a change for myself.
Thank you for reading my story!
