Hi, my name is Omar Santiago. I’m freshly 18 as of July 4th. I’ve run into some pretty bad situations since then. The photo shown in the cover was earlier in the year when I had unfortunately made horrible health decisions, which led to being diagnosed with diabetes. I am much better now and am more careful about my health and exercise than I’ve ever been. As shown in a photo below with a flannel button-up compared to me in the hospital bed, I am down about 50 pounds. However, my hospital bill put me about 5,000 dollars in debt.

I do work full-time to try and help with this, but the situation I am currently in with a now single-parent household trying to help has made it very difficult. The other photos you see in this post are an unfortunate circumstance that occurred this past Saturday. I had gone out Christmas shopping for my family. Exiting off the I-15 near the strip, I had the unfortunate event of my brake giving out and losing control of the car. I got control of the car before anything bad would happen, but I was then hit by another vehicle. Everyone who was in the car at the time is a little banged up, but we’re all okay.

I had the unfortunate circumstance of being put at fault and being given a ticket as well as the car no longer functioning well. The damages to the car are irreparable. My dad had expressed clear disappointment in me, and I understand why. I am under his name on the insurance, and due to my house now being a single-parent household, it makes things very difficult on him now just having one car. I just wanna do him good and make him proud. Please, for any people willing to help, I’m begging you to help out with anything you guys can. I understand it’s not as worse of a situation as others may be in, but I want to do my best to have this taken care of so we can all pick our heads up and move forward.
