Hi, my name is Trina DeSouza, and I am fundraising for my husband, Omar DeSouza. My husband and I were invited to our friend's home for a New Year's Eve BBQ and firework display. Unfortunately, my husband sustained injuries to both hands when handed a Roman Candle, which malfunctioned and exploded. He lost consciousness due to the loss of blood. Once transported/arrived at the hospital, emergency surgery was performed. His injuries entailed 3rd degree burns to both his hands and amputation of three (3) fingers on his left hand.

My husband carries high deductible health insurance meaning his co-pays are very high. He sees a Plastic Surgeon once a week, Primary Care Physician every month, Occupational Therapist three times a week, and Hydro Wound Care three times a week. I am still waiting for my husband's Short Term Disability to start. We have exhausted all our funds, and we need help financially. We have three children in school - 1-Elementary and 2-High School.

Your contribution(s) are needed immediately, as it will help with rent, my husband's copayments, transportation to and from doctor visits, monthly household expenses, and our children's school expenses.

We are also seeking help transporting my husband to and from doctor appointments.
