I am asking for some financial support for my husband, Omar, who was hit by a car about a month ago. He was on a motorized scooter and on his way to work when there was an accident. We are so grateful it wasn’t more serious, but he did break his clavicle and has since had surgery. Happily, he is healing and the pain is subsiding.

Omar will be off work for a total of 3 months as he can’t lift anything more than a pencil with that arm. He has been a full-time cook in a very busy Portland kitchen, and I’m sure they miss him there! It's very challenging for Omar to be so physically limited with a BIG 8-month-old baby boy to care for as well.

We are already struggling financially as I am doing in-home care for my mum after a hip surgery this summer. I am also off work and am far away in Canada, unable to help with baby Khayyam or my dogs while Omar is injured. It’s been a tough summer, my friends. We have been so grateful for mutual support and community, thank you.
