Hi, my name is Omar, and I never imagined I would be in this position—asking for help. I’ve always been someone who gives, who looks out for others, and who finds ways to keep pushing forward no matter how hard life gets. But right now, I have no choice but to reach out, not just for me, but for my loyal companion, Max.
I am currently homeless, living in my car with Max, my best friend and the only family I have left. Life hasn’t been easy. In the past six years, I’ve suffered unimaginable loss—my mother, two brothers, and my sister have all passed away. Losing them shattered me, but I kept going, trying to hold on to whatever I could.
On top of that, I have end-stage renal failure. I undergo dialysis three times a week for four hours at a time just to stay alive. This makes holding down a steady job incredibly difficult, but I do my best. I work as a DoorDash driver, but no matter how many hours I put in, it’s just not enough to afford stable housing. Some nights are colder than others, and some days, the exhaustion from dialysis makes it nearly impossible to keep going. But I do—because I have to.
Max has been my rock through all of this. He keeps me going when things feel unbearable. But I worry about him just as much as I worry about myself. He deserves a safe, warm place to sleep, food in his bowl, and a life where he doesn’t have to suffer because of my hardships.
I never thought I’d be in a position where I had to ask for help, but here I am, hoping for a miracle. My goal is to raise enough money to secure a safe place for Max and me—a stable roof over our heads where I can focus on my health without worrying about where we’ll sleep each night.
If you can help in any way, whether it’s donating or simply sharing my story, I would be forever grateful. Every bit of support brings me one step closer to stability, to safety, and to a future where Max and I don’t have to struggle just to survive.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Omar & Max
