Will is raising support for the Olney High School Biology Club as 12 students prepare for a life-changing trip to Costa Rica in June 2027. This opportunity will give students the chance to step far beyond the classroom and learn directly from the natural world. The cost is approximately $4,250 per student, and the group needs to seek help from every possible avenue, including outside their local community, to make this trip a reality. Funds raised will help cover student travel and course tuition so these students can participate fully in this important educational experience.
In Costa Rica, students will receive meaningful hands-on conservation and ecology experience with tropical rainforests, aquatic ecosystems, and nesting sea turtles. These are the kinds of lessons that stay with young people for a lifetime. On two previous trips, 18 students had the benefit of experiencing Central America, from the coral reef of Belize to the old-growth rainforests in Costa Rica. They learned about other cultures, endangered species, and fragile habitats, and came home with a deeper understanding of why conservation matters so much today.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help give this next group of students the same incredible opportunity. Will hopes supporters will consider donating and sharing this fundraiser so these Olney High School Biology Club students can return home better prepared to help their community and others understand how to live in ways that protect and conserve our planet.
