Hi, I’m Roxy. I’m fundraising to help my sweet 9-year-old dachshund, Ollie, recover after an emergency spinal surgery.

On August 1st, I woke up to find Ollie paralyzed from the waist down. He couldn’t walk or even go to the bathroom on his own. I rushed him to UC Davis Veterinary Hospital, where an MRI showed he had IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), a condition that affects about 1 in 5 dachshunds. He went straight into surgery to relieve the pressure on his spine, and after three tough days in the hospital, I finally got to bring him home to start his recovery.

The surgery saved Ollie’s life, but recovery is going to be a long journey. He’ll need ongoing medications, physical therapy, and possibly special equipment to give him the best chance at walking again. While he does have insurance, it only covered about 20% of the cost, leaving me with a big financial gap to cover on my own.

Ollie has been by my side for almost a decade, my little shadow, my emotional support, my adventure buddy. He’s the happiest when he’s burrowed under blankets, swimming like a little otter, or being chased around. He deserves the chance to get back to all of that.

Any funds raised will go directly toward Ollie’s care and recovery. If by chance there’s anything left over, I’ll donate it to Dollar For Doxies to help other pups facing the same struggle.
