Help Ollie Overcome His GI Battle
Donation protected

Hi - My name is Erin. I'm Ollie's Mom.
Ollie is a 4 year old, miniature dachshund.
Ollie has been battling GI Issues since October 2024, and lands in the vet's office ever 2 months (almost to the day). Each visit is anywhere from $400 - $1,600. The first 3 visits we were told "oh, he's just a dachshund, they like to get into things". He would be fine a week later.
March, 2025 was a different story. I took him into the vet's office, and his bloodwork was all off - he ended up being hospitalized overnight for dehydration. They did an ultrasound, and ruled out a lot (PLE, IBD, Addison's Disease) - they released him with some anti-nausea medicine, anti-diarrheal medicine ($1,600 later). I was cooking for him - just to get him eating again, and his poop firmed up. We took in a fecal sample and they found cryptosporidium, which we treated with antibiotics (not the cause of this, but could have been delaying his healing). After his poop firmed up, I started to wean him back onto kibble - all was well until he was fully on Kibble again.
Once back on Kibble - the diarrhea and lethargy started back. He didn't want to eat, was loosing weight.
I reached back out to the vet twice with no responses back. On 4/28 I finally got them to answer the phone, I said I wanted refills on his nausea and diarrhea medicine. The front desk staff stated they would put the note to his vet. I hadn't heard anything by the end of the day, and tried calling with no answer. I stopped on my way home, and his vet was "no longer working there" - and the other vet (who said he was just getting into things) denied the refills, and told me to feed him "boiled beef".
By Wednesday he was getting worse and 100% refusing food, and I had to beg for them to see him. On Friday, May 2, I dropped Ollie off for observation. They called and said his levels were bad, and he needed to be hospitalized.
Hospitalization & tests ran = $1,600 again.....and here we are on 5/12 - and I can't get my pup to eat, he's still loosing weight, and nothing is changing. I asked the vet to start steroids, to treat this like IBD and they're insisting on an intestinal biopsy = $2,400.
I've spent $5,500 thus far on his treatment - and I just need help :(
I hate asking for help, but this is just getting very hard! I, myself, have $9,800 in medical bills from a surgery I had to have in January! Anything would be GREATLY appreciated and 100% applied to his medical bills!
Every payout from GoFundMe will be immediately made to my CareCredit card balance - if you would like proof of payments, please don't hesitate to ask, I will 100% provide!!!
